Director of Marketing & Communications

Have you attended a conference or event and imagined how the magic came together? Have you ever thought, I could do that? At the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, we are looking for a Directory of Marketing and Communications to join our team! The Apartment Association of Greater Dallas is one of the fastest-growing, multifamily associations in the nation! As association staff, our mission is to communicate, educate, and advocate on behalf of our members and industry.

Over the past few years, we have undertaken a vast brand overhaul which has successfully transformed the way our brand is able to present itself to the industry and those we work with. As a Director, you would collaborate with the Design & Brand Manager to develop fresh communications strategies to market our association to prospects, communicate with our members, promote our courses, and amplify our signature in-person conferences and events. You will also work directly with the AAGD Executive Director, AAGD Department Leaders, and our Volunteer Board of Directors and Executives.

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of professional experience. This person is a detail-oriented self-starter who understands the value of a strong brand and the power of marketing to tell a story.

Reports To: Executive Director


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Event content and presentation management
  • Editor of Rooflines monthly print publication
  • Manage content for AAGD website and micro-sites
  • Manage all digital presentations
  • Manage designer and all third party vendors related to marketing
  • Manage the member digital experience
  • Manage print and digital advertisers
  • Help with digital innovation and ideation to help elevate the association
  • Manage budget for the department

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field
  • 7+ years of professional experience or similar capacity
  • Proficient in presentation software like Power Point or Keynote 
  • Self-starter who is organized and great at multitasking
  • Ability to work within an established brand but also provide unique solutions to keep our communications fresh and on-trend.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills

Additional skill sets that will be highly considered:

  • Familiarity of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of front-end HTML coding
  • Experience in Constant Contact
  • Experience in social media marketing
  • Experience with copywriting and proof-reading
