ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Electricity is probably the most important area to know and understand before attempting repairs on site. Electricity is dangerous and can be fatal. Electrical devices must always be handled, installed, and maintained properly to avoid injuries and property loss. This course will cover the major types of electrical repairs performed on our properties and how to address them correctly. The course will also cover the current laws and required processes that must be followed for safety and compliance with various governmental agencies.
In this class you will learn:
- How to properly troubleshoot electrical issues
- Electrical safety, including proper Lock Out / Tag Out
- The basics of troubleshooting electrical circuits with a multimeter
- Common electrical symbols
- An introduction to wiring diagrams, including how to read and interpret them
- Diagnostic procedures to identify electrical failures of motors, capacitors, switches, outlets and relays.
Tonya is a NATE Certified Technician with 35 years of experience in the HVAC Service Industry. She provides HVAC training & Manufacturer technical support by phone or field site visits for Commercial, Residential equipment to include Duct Free Systems, Mini VRF and Manufactured Housing Equipment. She started in the Multi-Family Industry in 1984, then went to work as a Service Technician for an Air Conditioning Contractor. Additionally, she has 10 years of experience developing and conducting HVAC Technical Training classes.

Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the AAGD Education Department at least 24 hours prior to class. Written confirmation from the Education Department will be sent via e-mail. Substitutions are allowed, but ALL NO SHOWS WILL BE BILLED WITHOUT EXCEPTION. By registering for this program, you agree that you have read and understood the cancellation policy.
