Every year the AAGD Community Service Committee gives back to communities in need in North Texas. With the generous support of AAGD members, we have donated large interior and exterior renovations to women’s shelters, homeless shelters, food pantries, and children’s services.

Partnering with Dallas Child Advocacy Center
DCAC Improves the Lives of Abused Children
The Apartment Association of Greater Dallas (AAGD) is proud to partner with the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) to assist the immediate needs of children and families facing the crisis of abuse. Our members purchased hundreds of items from Amazon’s wish list, which were stored at one of Maintenance Supply Solutions’ facilities by John Brandes. On Aug. 30, AAGD leaders Traci Nau, Dawn Waye, Danielle Keck, John Brandes, Charles Stroud, and Debbie Chatman delivered these items to the DCAC. This service day exemplifies AAGD’s dedication and strong commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. “One of our fundamental values is giving back to the community that supports us. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow and thrive. Our commitment to helping children who have suffered from abuse and neglect is unwavering. DCAC’s mission aligns perfectly with our values, and we are deeply honored to partner with them to ensure these children receive the care and support they need as we work together to rebuild our community,” Brandes said.
The DCAC is the leading agency in Dallas County focused on investigating, prosecuting and providing healing services for child abuse cases. Their unique multidisciplinary approach minimizes child re-victimization, removes barriers to investigation and treatment, and strengthens criminal prosecution. Recognized nationally and internationally, DCAC is at the forefront of the Children’s Advocacy Center movement, offering cutting-edge clinical services and comprehensive training programs free of charge. Children who are removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect often have nothing but the clothes on their backs. Caregivers may struggle to meet the unexpected needs of a child in crisis. DCAC steps in to ensure safer environments and stabilized placements for these vulnerable children.
