2022 Community Service Food Drive and Volunteer Day
This September the AAGD Community Service Committee organized a member-wide food drive to support Inspired Vision Compassion Center, a local food pantry located in a food desert in southeast Dallas. The committee asked AAGD Member properties and offices to set up an on-site Food Drive on September 1, 2022 through September 23, 2022. We had 131 Properties and Companies Participate and collected over 12 palettes of food for the pantry! We also had $1,650 in cash donations for the effort.
The largest food drive, hosted by the Lofts at Watters Creek, Weidner Apartment Home, collected over 800 donated items! Click here to read their feature in the Allen American News Site. The second largest Food Drive was hosted by the Arbors on Wintergreen, Whitney Management Corporation, which collected 575 Donated Items.
On October 20th our Community Service Committee and Product & Service Council volunteered at Inspired Vision Compassion Center to sort and stock food, and help clients fill their carts and cars!

Inspired Vision Compassion Center is a food bank distributing food and necessities to families in need in Southeast Dallas. This charity also has support systems to facilitate change in poverty areas. IVCC also partners with other organizations to bring medical care, wellness coaching, and education services to its community. IVCC serves between 600 and 1800 families daily. In 2021, IVCC distributed over 43 million dollars of groceries to the underserved living in Dallas, Texas.
